For the potato dumplings, boil the potatoes until soft. Peel and press through the potato press. Mix the butter into the potatoes.

After the mixture has cooled, knead in salt, flour, semolina and the egg. Knead the dough briefly, form into a roll, cut off pieces and shape into dumplings.

Cook in boiling water until the potato dumplings float to the surface (about 15-20 minutes).
