Mash the Camenbert very finely with a fork, knead in the butter, sour cream and beer with care. Peel half of the onions and cut them into very fine cubes, mix them into the Obatzten. Season with salt, bell pepper and paprika powder.

Remove peel from remaining onions and cut into fine rings. Rinse, clean and finely dice the bell bell pepper. Serve the Obatzten sprinkled with caraway seeds and garnished with the vegetables.

It is best served with pretzel bread.

The following should be said about the name Obatzter:

Since everything is enriched together with spices and other ingredients, the Bavarians call it “Obatzda”, which means as much as “angepatzter” thus dressed cheese.
