Bring the flair of the Paris Ritz home and to the table in the afternoon for tea a marble cake! This is super easy to make, can be prepared the day before and tastes great with tea.

In a baking bowl, stir together the softened butter and sugar. Fold in the eggs a little at a time, then the whipped cream until well blended. Mix the flour with the baking powder, vanilla and salt beforehand and finally stir it into the butter-sugar-whipped cream-eggs mixture. The dough should be a little more liquid than too firm.

Take a third of the dough and mix it with the cocoa powder. This mixture will be a little less runny. Fill the cake tin with a part of the white dough, then the brown dough and finally the rest of the white dough.

The marbling is obtained by pulling a kitchen knife through the dough in a spiral motion (this can also be done with a fork!). The cake will be especially good if the dough is allowed to rest in the pan for a night in the refrigerator. The marble cake à la Ritz can be prepared very well.
