Instructions:

For the cinnamon sugar cookies, first knead the ingredients together for the dough. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

After the chilling time, either roll out the dough to about 3 mm thick and cut out stars or form small balls with your hands. Chill in between if necessary.

For frying, heat the oil to about 170-180 °C. Carefully slide the balls or stars into the hot fat in portions and fry briefly (the fat should not get too hot). Be careful that they do not get too dark. Lift out and drain on paper towels.

Mix sugar and cinnamon. Dip the stars or balls in it while they are still warm. Serve the cinnamon sugar cookies with coffee or as a decoration for desserts.

The cinnamon sugar cookies can also be stored in a cookie jar for a week before eating.
