A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Knead dough from flour, half the salt, egg yolks, water, lemon zest and vanilla. Set aside to cool for about 1/2 hour.

Now roll out and evenly distribute the chopped butter flakes on top.

Wrap from both sides to the center and curl from top to bottom, rest about 20 min.

Repeat all together twice.

Roll out the dough 1/2 cm thick and cut out round loaves. Brush the edges with egg white and put a teaspoon of hazelnut paste in the middle. Cover with one half of the dough.

Brush the Kräpfle with the remaining egg yolk and bake in a heated oven at about 200 °C for 20 minutes.
