For the Avocado Ura-Makis, first wash the uncooked rice under running water until the water runs off clear. Cook the rice on low heat for 12 minutes. Let the cooked rice cool on a flat plate for 10 minutes.

Mix rice vinegar with salt and sugar and pour over the rice. Mix well with a wooden spoon.

Divide the rice into 6 equal parts and spread one part evenly on a bamboo mat. Now place a nori sheet on top with the shiny side down and spread another part of rice on top, but leave 2 cm free here.

Peel avocado, remove pit and cut into wide strips. Place 2-3 strips (depending on length) in the middle of the first third on top of the rice. Now roll from top to bottom with even pressure, using the bamboo mat.

Cut the avocado ura-makis into 1.5 cm wide strips with a sharp knife.

Preparation Tip:

Serve the avocado ura maki with wasabi and soy sauce.
