A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Separate eggs, cream light butter, sugar and egg yolks. Fold in rum, cocoa, nuts, coffee, cloves and cinnamon. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Mix flour with baking powder, sift and fold in. Add the snow to the foam mixture and fold in. Fill the dough into a well-greased “Julia” pan sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Bake in a heated oven at 175 °C for about 45 minutes. Cool in the pan, turn out onto a cooling rack and cool completely.

Decoration:

Melt the lemon glaze in a warm water bath and brush the cooled cake with it. Sprinkle pistachios and caster sugar evenly over cake.
